Mehdi Ben Youssef
Senior Investigator
Mehdi joined LFJL in March 2021 as Senior Investigator. In his current role, Mehdi works on pursuing accountability for serious international crimes and gross human rights violations in Libya, including through investigation, documentation, archiving and development of a network of Libyan researchers. Prior to LFJL, Mehdi worked as a Campaigner at Amnesty International, documenting and launching campaigns on human rights violations in Libya and Tunisia. He also worked on project management, research, and advocacy with various international organizations. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and a BA in Public Law from the Faculty of Legal, Political and Social Science of Tunis. Mehdi is fluent in English, French and Arabic.

انضمّ مهدي لصفوف منظمة محامون من أجل العدالة في ليبيا، كمحقّقٍ أعلى بمارس 2021. ويعمل في سياق وظيفته الحالية، على قضايا المساءلة عن الجرائم الدولية الخطيرة والإنتهاكات الجسيمة لحقوق الإنسان في ليبيا، مستعينا بأدوات التحقيق، والتوثيق، والأرشفة وتكوين شبكة من الباحثين الليبيين. وقبل انضمامه إلى منظمة محامون من أجل العدالة في ليبيا، عمل مهدي ناشطاً ومنظّم حملات لدى منظمة العفو الدولية حيث قام بتوثيق وإطلاق حملات حول انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان في ليبيا وتونس. كما عمل على إدارة المشاريع، والبحث والمناصرة مع منظمات دولية مختلفة. يحمل مهدي شهادة ماجستير في العلوم السياسية وإجازةً في القانون العام من كلية العلوم القانونية والسياسية والاجتماعية بتونس. وهو يتقن الإنكليزية والفرنسية والعربية بطلاقة.
